FARGO, ND. (KFGO AM) -- Fargo city commissioners have given thumbs up to amending an ordinance that would require the city's approximately 50 child care centers to provide one hour of physical activity daily to full time children.
Cheryl Stetz, with Fargo Cass Public Health, says it shouldn't create any hardships for the child care centers.
She says a working group for the past year has been looking at coming up with the a consistant plan, one that includes indoor activity when the weather is too cold or too wet to go outside:
The changes do not affect in-home day cares.
The city attorney's office will first have to amend the current ordinance before there's a final vote.
