BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- North Dakota's Game and Fish Department is urging boat owners who still need to renew their registration to use the agency's online renewal system to speed up processing time.
Department Licensing Manager Randy Meissner says the agency is dealing with a high volume of registrations as boat owners prepare for the new season.
He says the processing time for mail applications is 10 to 14 days. Meissner says that might be cutting it a little close for someone wanting to register a boat by Memorial Day weekend.
And he says the processing time can be cut to just a few days through the online renewal system, at www.gf.nd.gov . 2014 is the first year of a three-year boat licensing period.
More than 60,000 boat owners were mailed renewal notices in December.
