MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO-AM) - Two baseball bats were among the evidence seized by law enforcement from the home of a rural Moorhead man charged with attempted murder. Court documents say investigators found the aluminum bats in the home of 34-year-old Michael Karau.
Prosecutors say Karau stomped on the woman and beat her with a baseball bat during a drunken attack that lasted several hours.
A Clay County detective seized two aluminum baseball bats; one of the bats was under a bed; the other bat was located in an attached garage.
Investigators also seized hair and carpet samples, a mattress and a headboard with blood stains.
The victim was treated for injuries including a broken nose, broken tailbone and a partially torn off ear.
Karau is charged with attempted murder, assault and false imprisonment.
