Crash on icy I-94 near Barnesville, man killed identified

BARNESVILLE, MINN. (KFGO-AM) The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash on I-94 at Barnesville involving two tractor-trailers.  The victim has been identified as Steven J. Olson of Moorhead.  He was driving for Cass-Clay.

Olson was killed in the crash just before 4am Wednesday.  Patrol Sergeant Jesse Grabow says roads were slick due to snow and temperatures below freezing.

Troopers also handled several other crashes along I-94, including a jack-knifed semi near Rothsay that was blocking the eastbound lanes. There were other reports vehicles sliding off the road near Fergus Falls.

A KFGO cell caller also reported a jackknifed semi on I-29 near Harwood, north of Fargo.
