MINTO, ND (KFGO-AM) Flooding is reported in Minto, North Dakota.

Walsh County Emergency Manager Brent Nelson says an ice jam formed at a railroad bridge on the Forest River east of town, causing the already swollen river to rise rapidly since late Wednesday night.

Nelson says 13 homes are surrounded by water. The river is still rising but it has slowed so they're hoping it will level off and the ice jam will break up.

Several homes were sandbagged early Thursday. U.S. Highway 81 through Minto is closed because of the flooding.
