FARGO (KFGO-AM) A coalition of North Dakota construction trade groups has kicked off a campaign across the Dakota's to find skilled workers. The jobs range from bricklayers and masons to iron workers, heavy equipment operators and painters.
Jason Ehlert, President of North Dakota State Building Construction Trades, says right now there's 1400 skilled construction jobs available in North Dakota. He says the trade group's hunt for workers is unprecedented. He says they're trying to get out ahead of the construction season when there will be even more demand for skilled workers.
Ehlert says the jobs offer high pay and good retirement and health benefits. The trade groups are holding job fairs now through mid-May. That includes a two day event in Fargo, April 25-26.
