FARGO (KFGO AM) The Fargo Liquor Control Committee has been asked to look at requiring bars to have dram shop insurance. It comes from a task force examining ways to reduce alcohol abuse and prevent underage and binge drinking in Fargo.
43 states, including Minnesota require the liability insurance that holds alcohol sellers responsible for the conduct of customers. It's also a requirement in West Fargo. Fargo Cass Public Health's Robyn Littke Soll told the committee there's strong evidence that the liability insurance prevents or reduces alchol related accidents.
Committee members say more information is needed before there's any further decision.
