FARGO (KFGO) -- Congressman Collin Peterson plans to run for a 13th term.
Peterson made the announcement on KFGO Monday morning, ahead of a news conference in Moorhead.
Peterson says there's plenty of work to do, including the implementation of the farm bill, flood retention projects, and the highway construction bill.
Peterson expects his race will be targeted by Republicans. State senator Torrey Westrom of Elbow Lake is the only Republican to announce a challenge to Peterson.
Peterson has represented Minnesota's sprawling seventh district since 1990 and among other things, has been instrumental in writing our nation's farm policy.
Peterson has served as both chair and ranking member of the House Agriculture Committee.
