WEST FARGO, ND (KFGO AM) -- The West Fargo School District will spend more than $140,000 to increase security.
The district says it's been looking to update security for their 8500 students for some time and there is now money in the building fund to do it.
The district will be adding a buzzer system, cameras and panic buttons to press for police assistance.
The West Fargo School Board conducted a study to see what improvements could be made to all 15 of the district's schools following the 2012 Sandy Hook school shootings.
The work should start next week.
