FARGO (KFGO AM) - Cass County Vector Control ramps up its mosquito control Monday night.
Director Ben Prather says heavy rain and hot weather have combined to triple the number of mosquitoes showing up in traps in the past week. "Anytime you have 7 to 8 inches of rain you're going to have mosquitoes," Prather said.
Up until now, Vector Control has concentrated its mosquito control on larvicide applications in standing water across the metro. Prather says if ground spraying doesn't do the trick Monday, it's possible aerial spraying may be conducted later this week.
Ground spraying will start around 8 p.m. in Fargo, West Fargo and Moorhead, weather permitting.
