GRAND FORKS (KFGO-AM) - The Eagles packed 'em in at the Alerus Center Friday night. It was pretty much a sold out concert for the "History of the Eagles" tour. Attendance figures were not available but the venue had expected more than 10,000 for the concert.
Many times the crowd, without any coaxing from the band ,sang along as the Eagles played a 27-song set, digging deep into their songbook which spans more than 40 years.
Near the start, band member Don Henley quipped the Eagles have played everywhere from Mexico City to Moscow but had never been to Grand Forks before. There were cheers. But when Henley said the band had played Fargo there were some boo's from the crowd. Henley replied..."a little brotherly love?"
The band played for 3 hours, including four songs for the encore, ending the concert after 11 p.m.
