FARGO (KFGO-AM) - More than a dozen public safety agencies were put to the test Tuesday during an full scale disaster drill at Fargo's Hector International Airport.
Fire departments from the airport, Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo, police, FM Ambulance, Sanford Air Med, Public Health, Cass County Coroner's office and many others responded to a mock airliner crash with mass casualties and mass fatalities.
Emergency responders checked over more than 40 volunteers who portrayed victims for treatment based on the seriousness of their injuries before being taken away by ambulances.
Airport fire chief Dave Bush says initial evaluation of the drill found some problems but he says there were other area's which excelled.
The FAA requires airports to have the crash drills every three years in order to be certified.
