JAMESTOWN, N.D. (AP) -- The University of Jamestown says it will use a donation from late businessman Harold Newman to help fund a $16 million sports arena.
University officials say the donation is the largest in school history but they're not releasing the amount at the request of the Newman family. The money will go toward the arena and nursing scholarships.
Newman in 1956 founded Newman Signs, now one of the 10 largest sign manufacturers in the nation. He died last year at the age of 80.
Newman in 1998 gave North Dakota State University $1.5 million to complete a financing package for a baseball stadium that now carries his name.
