GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - A North Dakota man is facing a minimum of seven years in prison after a federal jury found him guilty in a methamphetamine conspiracy trial.

The jury returned the verdict against 37-year-old José Louise Delacruz on Wednesday.

The Grand Forks man was charged with conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and distribution of methamphetamine, as well as brandishing a firearm during the commission of drug trafficking.

Authorities allege Delacruz and co-conspirators moved over 500 grams of a mixture containing meth in the Grand Forks area.

Prosecutors also say Delacruz played a role in pistol-whipping a co-conspirator whom he believed was cooperating with authorities.

Delacruz faces a mandatory seven-year sentence for the firearm charge and up to life in prison for the drug charge. His attorney couldn't immediately be reached.
