Game and Fish lifts Oahe Wildlife Management Area burn ban

The North Dakota Game and Fish Department has lifted a burn ban on the Oahe Wildlife Management Area along the Missouri River south of Bismarck-Mandan.

The ban was put in place earlier this spring to reduce the potential for wildfires in the heavily wooded recreation area used by anglers, campers and other outdoors enthusiasts. The ban included campfires.

Any burn restrictions implemented by Burleigh or Morton counties will still stand.

The Oahe WMA covers more than 16,000 acres along the Missouri River and Lake Oahe in portions of Burleigh, Emmons, and Morton counties.
