WAHPETON, ND (KVLY) - SEMCA, The Southeast Multi-County Agency Drug Task Force, continues to operate on the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton.
Joshua Peterson of Breckenridge allegedly sold small amounts of presciption pills, a type of stimulant used to treat attention deficit disorder, on three different occasions to a confidential informant, beginning last November.
He is charged with three counts of delivery of a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, a class a felony. If convicted, peterson faces a maximum of 20 years in prison, a $20,000 fine, or both. Peterson made his initial court appearance April 30.
SEMCA has been under scrutiny since last year's death of NDSCS student Andrew Sadek. SEMCA used Sadek as a drug informant after he was caught selling pot on campus. He disappeared and his body was later found in the Red River, killed by a gunshot. The circumstances surrounding his death are now under investigation by the Minnesota BCA and North Dakota BCI. Sadek's mother believes he was murdered.
