WASHBURN, N.D. (AP) -- A Fargo woman accused in a fatal all-terrain vehicle incident in McLean County has pleaded guilty to operating an ATV while drunk.
If a judge agrees to the plea deal, Carla Keller will spend two years on probation and pay $525 in fines and fees. A 10-day jail sentence will be suspended. A sentencing date was not immediately set.
Keller was accused of being drunk while operating an ATV that vaulted off an approach last August, throwing a passenger. Forty-nine-year-old Patrick Anderson, of Bismarck, later died of his injuries.
The charge to which Keller pleaded guilty this week is a misdemeanor. She initially faced a felony negligent homicide charge that carried a maximum sentence of five years in prison.
