WEST FARGO (KFGO-AM) A dramatic rescue in West Fargo Friday morning. Police found an intoxicated and disoriented man outside suffering from hypothermia. Sargent Jason Dura says officers were called to the 3400 block of Loberg Lane, near Liberty Middle School, around 4 A.M. after a homeowner reported a stranger pounded on the door asking to be let inside. She refused and the man left.
Police found tracks in the snow and located the man on the ground at a construction site next door. Dura says the man, wearing a sweat shirt and tennis shoes, was unable to walk. He says, "We caught him in a nick of time. If he would have passed out we would have probably been called to a dead body."
The man told police he had been outside two hours, apparently walking from a bar a mile away. The temperature at the time was in the minus teens with a windchill in the minus 20's. The man was taken to a Fargo hospital by ambulance. His condition is not available.
