FARGO (KFGO-AM) - After more than a half century of use, the Fargo YMCA is tearing down the old downtown YMCA aquatics center.
Aquatics Director Britt Selbo says it is time for a new facility. She says the old pool was being held together with "duct tape and gum". Most pools last 25 to 30 years. This one is 53 years old.
The new facility will feature a large lap swimming pool, a new zero-depth entry pool for kids, and a small warm-water pool. It's expected to be finished by next May.
