FARGO (KFGO-AM) - Although it would represent only a small percentage of Fargo's eligible voters, Cass County Auditor Mike Montplasir expects a good turnout for the special city election.

Looking at turnout in recent city elections and early voting this year, he says Tuesday's vote may be shaping up more like last June's primary election.

Montplasir says during three days of early voting last week, 4,000 people cast ballots. He says that's a surprising number when compared to last June's election when 3,100 people voted early over a one week period. 500 absentee ballots were also cast for this election. That's on par with a primary.

In the June 2014 city election, more than seventeen-thousand-800 people voted. Montplasir wouldn't be surprised if Tuesday's turnout is close to that

Voters will elect a mayor, one city commissioner and decide a home rule charter question requiring a commissioner to resign in order to run for mayor.
