OTTER TAIL, MINNESOTA (KFGO) -- Thumper Pond Resort in Ottertail, Minnesota is closed for the day after a partial roof collapse. No one was hurt.
The collapse happened around just before midnight in the water park area. Ottertail Fire and Rescue and the Otter Tail County Sheriff's Office responded.
General Manager Brad Stevens says about 25 to 30 guests at the resort were relocated to another hotel in the area as a precaution. He says the wood truss structure that houses the waterpark is 8 years old. He says the resort in Ottertail will be closed Wednesday while structural engineers examine the 12,000-square-foot building.
An investigation is underway to try to figure out what led to the collapse.
