BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The North Dakota Legislature has passed a measure that keeps private some video taken by police or firefighters wearing body cameras.
The House on Thursday passed the measure 87-5 on Thursday. The Senate unanimously approved the bill last month.
The one-sentence measure says that images taken in a private place by law enforcement or firefighters is exempt from the state's open records law.
Backers of the bill testified that it's intended to protect the privacy of people interacting with authorities.
