BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The former fiance of North Dakota Superintendent of Public Instruction Kirsten Baesler was placed on administrative leave after making a phone call to a radio talk show during work hours.

A statement from Bismarck Public Schools says Todd Tschosik violated district policy with the call Tuesday. He was put on leave for the rest of Tuesday, and KFGO radio reports the leave was extended for a second day Wednesday.

Tschosik and his attorney didn't immediately respond to Associated Press requests for comment.

Tschosik appeared on a KFGO show to present his side of a domestic dispute with Baesler in March. Baesler initially had faced an assault charge but it was later dismissed.

The state's teacher licensing board earlier this month decided to take no action against either Baesler or Tschosik.
