MINOT, N.D. (AP) - A North Dakota man originally charged with 17 counts of sexual abuse has pleaded guilty to seven federal charges.
Sixty-two-year-old Kenneth DeCoteau pleaded guilty to one count of sexual abuse of minor, two counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child, and three counts of abusive sexual contact. He faces life in prison without parole.
Authorities say the incidents took place on the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation and date back as far as January 1998.
A federal public defender could not be reached for comment. Sentencing for DeCoteau has not been scheduled.
