ST. PAUL (KFGO-AM) -- Moorhead would receive nearly $40million under an $842 million bonding bill proposed by Gov. Dayton. It includes more than $5.5 million for flood levee work in Oakport, now part of the city, and over $34 million for railroad upgrades and safety improvements.
Dayton says with interest rates low, he doesn't understand the reluctance on the part of some lawmakers to borrow the money.
Republican House Speaker Kurt Daudt says he'd be willing to consider some of the governor's ideas.
Minnesota State University-Moorhead would see $5 million for a new library roof and heating and air conditioning updates under the governors plan.
