MINOT, N.D. (AP) - Officials in Minot want more information regarding a proposed low-income housing complex before they approve the project.

The Minot Daily News reports the proposed project would be located next to Erik Ramstad Middle School and would involve 35-unit and 39-unit apartment buildings. Developers want to kick off the project this summer.

Officials with the Minot Planning Commission say they're concerned about approving the project without seeing a detailed site plan.

Bakken Development Group has submitted the rezoning request for the project. The property currently is zoned for planned residential, and the existing plan calls for townhouses. The requested zoning would allow for medium density development.

Commissioner Travis Zablotney says the commission really needs to consider whether an apartment building is the right development to be next to a school.
