BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A man who led police on an hour-long chase from the Standing Rock Indian Reservation to Bismarck last month is facing additional federal charges.

Authorities say William Schneider fled after he was pulled over by Bureau of Indian Affairs officers on March 3 near Fort Yates. One of the officers was allegedly hurt after he tried to stop Schneider from driving away.

Court documents show that Schneider drove as fast as 95 mph during the chase and ordered a passenger to throw out a bag of drugs and a firearm.

Schneider was originally charged with assault of a federal officer and felon in possession of a firearm. An updated indictment also charges him with felony fleeing and eluding, and false statements.

A public defender could not be reached for comment.
