FARGO (KFGO-AM- Despite less than ideal weather conditions since the launch of Fargo's Bike Share program two weeks ago, it's clear the project has caught on big time.
Sara Watson Curry of Great Rides Fargo says there have been more than 2,600 users and over 4,000 bikes checked out since the program was launched March 15. Monday, nearly 1,000 bikes were rented. Most of the users are NDSU students. University President Dean Breschiani told city commissioners he had his doubts when first approached about the project but he's been proven wrong.
Bike Share offers 101 bikes for rent at 11 different docking stations across downtown and on NDSU's campus. Students can sign up on line with their Bison cards and ride for free.
Annual memberships are available for $75 and monthly auto renewing memberships are available at $15, as well as daily passes for just $6 a day.
