BISMARCK (KFGO-AM) - The co-sponsor of a bill that would outlaw discrimination based on sexual orientation in North Dakota says it will be an "uphill battle" to get is passed. Similar bills failed in the 2009 and 2013 sessions.
However, Representative Josh Boschee of Fargo says the public outcry over last week's passage of indiana's controversial "religious freedom restoration act" may have changed some minds.
Boschee is the state's first and only openly gay legislator.
The bipartisan legislation passed the Senate and is now in a House committee. A hearing is expected Tuesday and the measure should reach the House floor for a vote Wednesday.
