MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO-AM) - A lengthy hearing has failed to produce a settlement in the case of a man who says Moorhead police used excessive force with a Taser.
James Van Raden was 75 when officer Steven Larsen shocked him with a stun gun after responding to a welfare check at Van Raden's home. Van Raden was unarmed and was not under arrest.
Attorneys for Van Raden and Larsen met with a federal judge in Duluth for nearly three hours Friday, but they could not agree on terms.
Claims against two other Moorhead officers and allegations of false arrest were dismissed.
