FARGO, N.D. - The area's first food systems advisory commission holds its inaugural meeting in Fargo.
The Cass-Clay Food Systems Advisory Commission is a new group that looks to improve access to healthy, safe, local and affordable food. It consists of five community members with an interest in food systems.
The meeting gave an overview of what the committee's goals are and allowed for the public to voice ideas. "Having a commission like this look at some of those key areas and identify ways that we can improve health, improve food security, and also create opportunities for jobs and economic growth are important things to look at and that's what this commission will be doing," says CCFSAC Project Coordinator Megan Myrdal.
The committee's next meeting is May 13th.
