BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) The North Dakota Legislature is considering a resolution that would require state lawmakers to live in their districts throughout their term.
Legislative leaders from both parties are pushing the resolution that would amend the state constitution, should voters agree.
North Dakota's Senate already has approved the resolution. The House Government and Veterans Affairs Committee took testimony on the resolution Thursday.
Senate Republican Leader Rich Wardner told the committee that he's gotten a lot of complaints about lawmakers living out of their districts.
He says lawmakers who represent a district also should live there.
