MINOT, N.D. (AP) The suspect in a slaying in Minot last fall has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge. Anthony Campbell entered his plea Thursday.
Campbell has been accused in the slaying of 25-year-old Shannon Brunelle, who was found dead in a garage at an apartment building on September 15th. Campbell was arrested in November in Philadelphia on a murder warrant and an unrelated burglary warrant. The murder charge carries a maximum punishment of life in prison without parole.
Campbell's attorney previously sought to have four judges disqualified from the case because each had had some role, from issuing warrants to presiding over court appearances. The request was denied.
Campbell has also pleaded not guilty to the burglary charge.
No trial date has been scheduled in the case.
