FARGO (KFGO-AM) - There's a lot of road construction projects on the drawing board in the Fargo area this year. All will have traffic impacts.
DOT Metro Engineer Kevin Gorder says the largest project is replacement of concrete paving on a 10 mile stretch of I-29, from argusville north at a cost of $23 million to $24 million. Once construction gets underway, there will be head to head traffic. Some very preliminary work has alread started. The project should be completed by late fall.
The third and final phase of reconstruction of Main Avenue in West Fargo will start around June 1. The 1.5 mile stretch runs runs between the Sheyenne river and I-94 and will cost between $15 million and $17 million, depending on the price of concrete.
DOT will also oversee repairs to a 12 mile stretch of I-29 between Main avenue and the Wild Rice River. That project will take most of the summer and will cost just under $3 million.
