FARGO (KFGO-AM) - KFGO News has learned there will be more layoff's at the CNH Industrial plant in Fargo.
Company spokesperson Kathleen Prause says 80 full time workers will be cut as the company responds to "market conditions." It's the latest ripple effect from the downturn in the farm economy, which the USDA predicts will cut net farm income by more than 30% this year, the lowest level since 2007.
The indefinite layoffs at the CNH plant are expected to begin next month and be completed by the end of April. Affected employees were notified Thursday.
It's the second cutback at the Fargo plant in recent months. 40 fulltime workers were laid off late last year. CNH Industrial manufactures agricultural and construction equipment in Fargo.
