FARGO, N.D. (KVRR) -- Cat's Cradle Shelter in Fargo is taking part in a nationwide contest.
Purina Cat Chow is hosting a Shelter of the Year contest to recognize those who make temporary homes for cats a happier and safer environment.
Fargo's Cat's Cradle Shelter is the only shelter in the entire state to be selected to participate.
The grand prize winner will receive $25,000.
One of the founders of the organization Gail Adams-Ventzke said, "It's a volunteer agency, and we poured our heart and soul into it. We remodeled this building with what little we had, and made it work for us. There's always room for improvement and growth and that's what we're searching for with this contest."
