FARGO (KFGO-AM) - The Fargo School Board has given unanimous preliminary approval to a school boundaries plan.
The purpose is to alleviate expected overcrowding at Discovery Middle School and Davies High School by shifting more students to Ben Franklin Middle School and North High School where there's more space. The changes would also delay construction of additions at southside schools to make room for projected enrollment increases. The detailed plan has been worked on for months with lots of input.
A final vote will take place next month. If approved, the new boundaries will be phased in starting in the 2016-2017 school year.
The School District plans to seek feedback on the district's webpage that could be available by the end of the week. A series of public forums are also scheduled for next month.
