ST. JOSEPH, Minn. (AP) -- Former 1960s pop idol Bobby Vee is not letting Alzheimer's disease silence him. Vee stopped performing in 2011 because of the degenerative brain disease.
But the 70-year-old known for his hits ``Take Good Care of My Baby'' and ``Rubber Ball'' is planning a new CD. ``The Adobe Sessions'' was recorded with Vee's family and features some of his favorite songs from Townes Van Zandt, Gordon Lightfoot and Ricky Nelson. Vee tells says he wanted to keep recording music. The album will be released February 3rd, the 55th anniversary of the plane crash that killed Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. ``The Big Bopper'' Richardson.
That same night, Vee was a 15-year-old from Fargo when he stepped on stage in Moorhead to take Holly's place.
