BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO-AM) A convicted bomb maker has been sentenced in federal court in Bismarck to serve a year in prison for violation terms of his supervised release.
Thirty-eight-year-old Douglas Feist was on federal probation after being convicted in 2008 of conspiring to manufacture a destructive device. Authorities said he violated his probation when he was convicted of criminal mischief for damaging an ATM. He was given a suspended five-year sentence in that state case.
Feist told U.S. District Judge Daniel Hovland that he lost his temper when the ATM malfunctioned, and that he is making restitution to the bank.
