BISMARCK, N.D. (KFGO-AM) North Dakota lawmakers have heard arguments in the battle over whether a museum should be removed from the State Fairgrounds in Minot.
The association is asking a judge to declare that it can legally evict the Ward County Historical Society because the society has no real interest in the fairgrounds property where the Pioneer Village Museum sits.
The dispute has now also reached the state Legislature. Three lawmakers have introduced a bill that would allow the Pioneer Village to remain on the fairgrounds.
A state Senate panel this week listened to two hours of testimony from critics and supporters of the measure.
Republican Sen. Oley Larson has introduced the bill. He says it's appropriate for the legislators to decide the issue since the Fairgrounds are state property.
