BISMARCK, N.D. (AP)  The North Dakota University System's suspended chief auditor has signed a separation agreement.

Timothy Carlson was put on paid administrative leave last November and told he likely will be fired for allegedly providing misleading information about his work experience and credentials.

Under the separation agreement Carlson has signed with the university system, he will get pay and benefits through the end of the month. His annual salary is $140,000. A telephone listing for him could not immediately be found.

University system spokeswoman Linda Donlin says Carlson's position will be filled either by internal appointment or through an arrangement with the state auditor's office.
