WEST FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- Another extensive search of the Sheyenne River in West Fargo is planned for a snowmobiler who's been missing since Dec. 2.
Police Chief Mike Reitan says the decision to continue the search for Cole Schwindt, 34, of Moorhead, was made because of the warm-up and because Valley Water Rescue has purchased new equipment, which could help in the search.
The dive team drilled holes Monday and is waiting for the water to settle. On Wednesday, they plan to use dogs to try to pick up Schwindt's scent so they can narrow the search area.
Reitan says Jamestown Firefighters will bring in remote operated vehicles on Thursday to help in the search. They have helped in previous searches.
Earlier searches involved boats, dogs, divers and electronic equipment. Backhoes were also used at one point to remove sheets of ice.
