GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) -- A former Grand Forks day care employee accused of sexually abusing four children has been cleared of all charges after psychologists determined he likely made a false confession.
Court documents show the prosecutor filed a motion on Jan. 5 to dismiss the charges against 32-year-old Timothy Tollefson of Manvel. The judge granted the request the next day.
Tollefson was charged in December 2013 with four counts of gross sexual imposition for allegedly inappropriately touching four girls during nap time at the Immanuel Christian Children's Center in Grand Forks. He pleaded not guilty to the charges last March. Each count carried a maximum punishment of 20 years in prison.
