DEVILS LAKE, N.D. (KFGO-AM) - The Devils Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau wants you to know Devils Lake is open for fishing.
Executive Director Suzie Kenner says reports this week about dangerous ice on North Dakota's premier winter fishing lake prompted cancellations and lots calls to local resorts and hotels from concerned customers. She downplayed the situation.
Kenner said, "It's wintertime, it's ice, what lake doesn't have pressure ridges right now", although she concedes there are more than usual this winter. Kenner says the lake remains safe.
She advises anglers to check in with resorts, guides or the C-V-B for information about lake conditions.
