MINOT, N.D. (AP) - Minot police say a man who fled from a traffic stop and then allegedly caused a chain-reaction crash that injured a woman has turned himself in.
Authorities say an officer stopped 32-year-old Leroy Kyles late Sunday for driving with a suspended license, and the suspect fled. The officer did not pursue, given the minor nature of the traffic violation.
Police say a few minutes later Kyles struck a vehicle at an intersection, causing the crash that involved five vehicles including his own. He then fled on foot.
A 60-year-old woman was taken to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
Kyles faces charges of driving under revocation, aggravated reckless driving, escape, leaving the scene of an accident involving death or injury, and reckless endangerment.
Kyles is being held in jail.
