FARGO, N.D. (AP) - Sunflower growers are getting some advice during an annual conference in Fargo.
The National Sunflower Association is hosting the two-day forum Wednesday and Thursday at the Ramada Plaza Suites and Convention Center. Farmers who signed up will get information on how to fight diseases and insects and make the 2015 crop profitable.
Researchers from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, North Dakota State University, South Dakota State, Kansas State, Colorado State and Iowa State will present their findings on sunflower studies they have conducted. Federal researcher Brent Hulke at the Northern Crops Science Lab in Fargo will speak about 2014 spring planting survey highlights and results.
It's the 37th year for the annual Sunflower Research Forum.
