FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- When Fargo residents vote for a new mayor this spring, they'll also be asked if commissioners need to resign when running for mayor. Under the current city charter that's what commissioners have to do, so Acting Mayor Tim Mahoney will have to step down as commissioner when as he seeks a full term as mayor. Several other city commissioners who have indicated they might run for the job could find themselves in the same spot.
Former commissioner Brad Wimmer also plans to run for mayor.
The special election is April 28.
