FARGO- (KFGO-AM) -- Fargo police are conducting an increased traffic enforcement effort this week with special emphasis on seatbelt usage. It's part of the statewide "click it or ticket" campaign.
Sargent Jim Kringlie says violators will get a $20 ticket. Officers will also be looking for speeders, red light runners & lane and right-of-way violators. Those caught texting face a $100 fine.
In North Dakota, driving unbuckled is not a primary offense. That means adults cannot be pulled over for not wearing a seatbelt, but if they're stopped for another violation, they can be ticketed for not wearing one.
