GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Two University of North Dakota researchers are getting a grant of nearly $1.5 million over five years to study drugs used to treat HIV, the virus that causes AIDS.

The money from the National Institutes of Health is going to UND professor Jonathan Geiger and assistant professor Xuesong Chen.

Earlier this year, the two researchers were awarded a five-year, $1.6 million grant from the National Institutes of Health for similar work.

The UND medical school calls it a "huge achievement," saying it's hard enough to get one grant from the National Institutes of Health, let alone two.
