Fargo, N.D. (AP) Few teams in the last four years have been able to drive through the vaunted North Dakota State defense. Coastal Carolina is going to see if it can drive around the Bison. The Chanticleers will bring a spread, up-tempo offense to Fargo Saturday for a Football Championship Subdivision quarterfinal game against the three-time defending national champions.
Bison Defensive Back Tre Dempsey knows the visitors well. He was close to attending Coastal Carolina before NDSU offered him a scholarship. Dempsey says the Chanticleers have a lot of tricky plays, formations and schemes.
Dempsey says that even though the Bison played Coastal Carolina last year, the visitors will likely have some new plays this time.
The Bison are chasing their fourth straight national title. Kickoff is 11 a.m. Saturday at the Fargodome.
